Alexandra Axell is a Special Education Inclusion teacher at John Spry Elementary School where she has worked for the past three years. She has been identified as a leader in her school and as a result is part of the Instructional Leadership Team and is serving as the math lead for K-5 and 6-8 teachers at Spry. Alex is also a Site Coordinator for Girls on the Run, a non-profit after school program that serves adolescent girls in building self-confidence and a healthy lifestyle. Outside of school, she works as a instructor for new teachers. Alex works hard to meet her student’s needs by understanding the way they think and adjusting her instruction to increase student achievement. Alex received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, majoring in both English and Political Science, and received a master’s degree from National Louis University. Her primary objective for joining TGC is to gain the knowledge and skills that would allow her to provide her students with a stronger sense of the world around them so that they can be better prepared to face the challenges of high school and beyond.
